Confined Space Entry
 
Learners will acquire greater knowledge regarding confined space, as well as a general understanding of entering a confined space safely. The course will equip learners with the necessary knowledge, skills, and understanding in identifying the hazards of confined spaces and the precautions required for the safety of workers and the public.
 
Learning Objectives

Requirements 
Valid Medical certificate of fitness to be accompanied by a lung function test
 
 
Permit to work
 
This course will provide learners with comprehensive knowledge on the Permit to Work (PTW) system, emphasizing its importance in maintaining workplace safety. The PTW system is a formalized process used to control high-risk activities and ensure that all necessary safety precautions are in place before work begins.
 
Learning Objectives
  • Understand the purpose and importance of the Permit to Work system.
  • Identify the various types of permits and their applications.
  • Implement safety precautions and control measures tomitigate risks associated with high-risk activities.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with all stakeholders involved in the PTW process.
 
Fall Arrest Level 1
 
This course is ideal for individuals working at height where there is a risk of injury from a fall. Learners will be involved in performing tasks at height and will be able to follow fall arrest principles to perform work at height safely, under the supervision of a qualified supervisor.
 
Learning Objectives
  • Explain the use and limitations of a limited range of fall arrest equipment and fall arrest plan.
  • Inspect, assemble, and store fall arrest equipment.
  • Select suitable anchor points.
  • Use fall arrest systems with a double lanyard.
  • Use pre-installed vertical and horizontal life-lines.
 
Requirements
Valid Working at Heights Medical Certificate
 
Fall arrest and Rescue(Level 2)
 
The course will equip learners with the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding in order to take responsibility for installing, using and inspecting fall arrest systems and to perform basic rescues.
 
Learning Objectives
  • Explaining the use of a range of fall arrest equipment and knowledge of applicable regulations.
  • Explaining and using basic rope knots.
  • Installing and using fall arrest systems.
  • Inspecting and assembling fall arrest equipment and systems.
  • Performing basic fall arrest rescues to bring a casualty down to safety.

Fall Arrest Supervisor (Protection PlanDevelopment)
 
The course is aimed at those individuals who will be responsible for the safety and protection of people working at heights where there is a risk of injury from a fall. The course will equip learners with the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to develop fall protection plans for people working at height, required by the Occupational Health and safety act (Act 85 of 1993)
 
Learning Objectives
  • Performing a risk assessment of the worksite where work is to be done at height.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of fall arrest rescue equipment and advanced fall arrest rescue.
  • Developing a fall protection plan and fall arrest plan.
  • Managing safety of personnel working at heights.
  • Requirements (Level 1 and 2)
